Physiotherapy

hysiotherapy is a healthcare profession focused on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of physical disabilities, movement dysfunctions, and pain. It uses various techniques like manual therapy, exercise, and modalities such as heat, cold, and electrotherapy to improve physical function, mobility, and quality of life.

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy is a treatment method used in physiotherapy that involves the application of electrical energy to promote healing, reduce pain, improve circulation, and stimulate muscles. It is commonly used to treat a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, and nerve-related problems.

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy, also known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), is a non-invasive treatment method used in physiotherapy to treat various musculoskeletal conditions. It involves the delivery of high-energy shockwaves to the affected area to stimulate healing, reduce pain, and improve mobility.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on diagnosing, treating, and preventing health issues by emphasizing the body’s musculoskeletal system. Osteopaths believe that the body has an innate ability to heal itself and that by improving the function of the bones, muscles, joints, and connective tissues, overall health can be enhanced.

Visceral osteopathy

Visceral osteopathy is a specialized branch of osteopathy that focuses on the manual treatment of the body’s internal organs (viscera) to improve their function and restore balance within the body. It is based on the belief that the body’s organs are interconnected with the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, and that dysfunction in one area can affect other parts of the body.

Cranio-sacral osteopathy

Cranio-Sacral Osteopathy, or Craniosacral Therapy (CST), is a gentle, non-invasive form of osteopathy that focuses on the rhythm and movement of the craniosacral system, which includes the bones of the skull (cranium), spine, and sacrum (the lower part of the spine). The therapy is based on the idea that subtle movements and pulsations in these areas can impact the body’s nervous system,

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a healthcare profession focused on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal disorders, especially issues related to the spine. Chiropractors primarily use hands-on spinal manipulation and other alternative treatments to adjust misaligned joints and improve physical function.

Posture correction

Posture correction involves exercises, stretches, and techniques designed to improve the alignment and position of the body, especially during activities like standing, sitting, and walking. Proper posture helps reduce strain on muscles, ligaments, and joints, enhancing overall health and preventing issues such as back pain, neck pain, and muscle fatigue.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy is a hands-on treatment approach used by physical therapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, and massage therapists to address musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It involves various techniques aimed at mobilizing joints, muscles, and soft tissues to improve movement, relieve pain, and enhance physical function.

Mobilisation & Manipulation

Mobilization and manipulation are two key manual therapy techniques used to treat musculoskeletal issues. They are both designed to improve joint function and reduce pain, but they differ in the amount of force applied and the technique used. Here’s a breakdown of each:

Soft tissue mobilisation

Soft tissue mobilization (STM) is a manual therapy technique designed to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and promote healing by targeting muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. Unlike joint mobilization, which focuses on restoring joint movement, STM involves manipulating soft tissues to break down scar tissue, reduce muscle tightness, and increase circulation.

MFR

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a manual therapy technique that focuses on relieving tension and restrictions in the myofascial system—the network of connective tissue (fascia) that surrounds muscles, bones, and organs. It is particularly effective for individuals suffering from chronic pain, tightness, or postural issues related to soft tissue restrictions.
